Design by Deborah: Oracles are important characters in my book Sapience: The Moment Is Now. I am building out this collection in recognition of Grandmother who is sharing her wisdom with her granddaughter as they struggle to survive in what once used to be the grain belt of America, the Midwest. By 2050, it has been turned into the largest hot desert of Earth due to climate change humanity failed to mitigate back in the 2020s. The Oracle is an arch of consciousness we all use to navigate reality. Arches of consciousness are what allow us to think an ordinary thought, to have flashes of insight, to solve a riddle or problem, and to ascribe meaning and purpose to our lives. Rainbow women and harps are images I made last year for a blog about consciousness and archetypes.
Writing my blogs was a helpful tool to digest terribly complicated ideas for my book and be able to write these ideas in a way that seems natural and believable in my characters. Oracle characters are critical to the plot line in Sapience: The Moment Is Now. In book 1, they are Grandmother who is helping her granddaughter Rain, and Grandfather who is helping his grandson Yong Xing-li grapple with the rapid and chaotic changes of the first part of the 21st Century.
This poem is not in the book. I wrote it recently with the help of ChatGPT. But I finished it because AI currently only mashes up ideas and feeds them back to you rapidly, humans still only know how to finesse the nuances of life, love and wisdom of this moment in time. However, I did get stuck on rhyming words in a few places, and ChatGPT was very helpful in unblocking me! The mockup background is an image I made using Genolve and Midjourney AI to capture a dream I had of a midnight black sky studded with diamond-like stars… more than I have ever seen in real or dream life… it was awesome.
